Miami offers QB Andrew Hendrix

When UT offered Moeller (OH) QB Andrew Hendrix last month, it was his second major offer.

However, it's safe to say that the secret is out as more and more top programs are extending offers. Hendrix (6-3, 220) was offered by the University of Miami this morning, according to Moeller coach John Rodenberg.

The homestate Buckeyes extended an offer to Hendrix earlier this week, causing VOLS fans to become anxious. OSU has Tyrelle Pryor as QB for the present, but that doesn't mean they aren't aggresively recruiting a top QB in 2010. The Buckeyes failed to sign a QB in 2009 and there is a possibility that Pryor could go pro after his junior year.

Even though UT has some of the best recruiters in the nation, I don't like their chances of pulling a top notch QB out of Buckeye country, especially considering how bad OSU needs a future QB. Furthermore, Hendrix's sister went to OSU and still lives in Columbus.

Back when UT was head-and-shoulders his best offer, I liked their chances. I'm sure getting an OSU offer was something the kid never dreamed of and highly doubt he turns it down to leave the state.

Hendrix has offers from Ohio State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Tennessee, Boston College, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Illinois, and others.

Rodenberg believes Hendrix will narrow his list after he visits several schools this summer.

"I think he'll wait till the end of summer" before he commits, Rodenberg said.
