Coach Reaves, VOLS came out of the tunnel swinging

From the very opening kickoff in the Swamp, the VOLS sent a message that they came ready to fight. UF return specialist Brandon James has killed the VOLS 3 consectuive years by returning punts and putting the Gators inside the 50 to start drives. Although the Gators started the opening drive inside the 40, James' return nor day, didn't come without some bruises.

After crossing the 50 in what was a surreal moment for VOLS fans, Art Evans saved the VOLS from an opening TD when he blatenly face-masked and slung James down by his head. And if this flagrant penalty didn't set the tone, forcing the Gators to go 3 and out and settle for a field goal proably did. Later in the game, James went sliding over the middle for what would've been a touchdown, if not for true freshman Janzen Jackson laying what might be the hit that defines his freshman year (see video).

Clearly the message was sent loud and clear that it wasn't going to be so easy for now on for Urban Meyer and the rival Gators.  And it's safe to say Brandon James received his payback for 3 years of anguish he caused VOLS' fans.  I would be very surprised if his neck wasn't sore and his head wasn't ringing after what was probably his worst game versus the VOLS.

Even the low-key coach Reaves got fired up before the game and had some fun with the jort-wearing Gator fans. Besides Monte Kiffin, Reaves would be the last coach on the staff that I would expect to rip a sign from a Gator while running through the tunnel. Watch the video above. At the 1:39 mark Reaves gets the last laugh from a Gator fan holding a sign that antagonizes Lane Kiffin.
