VOLS make Swilling's final 5

New Orleans, LA linebacker Patrick Swilling (6'4-218 lbs/ 4.6)  is an intriguing prospect and one VOLS' fans may want to keep an eye on.  Not only is he the son of 5-time Pro-bowler Pat Swilling who played at Gerogia Tech and then the New Orlean Saints in the NFL, but he is also a star on the basketball court as well.

Swilling recently named a top 5 that included LSU, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Auburn.  Ole Miss appears to have the lead at this time, with hometown LSU and his dad's alma-mater Georgia Tech following. Unlike the other four schools who are recruiting Swilling as a strong safety or outside linebacker, UT is also interested in looking at him at WR.

Swilling has basketball offers to play combo/shooting guard at USC, Florida, and LSU.

Swilling is being recruited by UT coach Frank Wilson, who is originally from New Orleans.

Offensive Linemen Wanted

UT will continue to focus on James Stone, Arie Kouandjio, and Damien Robinson, three top-rated prospects who have strong interest in the VOLS.

Stone (6'5, 297) from Nashville Maplewood is one prospect the VOLS can't afford to let leave the state considering their thin depth at OL.  Stone, who is ranked as the #2 player in Tennessee, is ranked the #12 offensive tackle in the nation by rivals.com.  Not only is Stone gifted athletically, he also sports a 28 ACT score and 3.7 gpa.  Most believe it is a three-way battle between Tennessee, Alabama, and Notre Dame.  The hometown Commodores are worth keeping an eye on as well, considering their strong academics.

Kouandjio (6'6-314, 5.2/40 yd dash) from Hyattsville, MD is rated the #26 OT in the nation.  Kouandjio recently narrowed his 50 scholarsip offers down to a final 8 schools in Alabama, California, Maryland, Miami, Notre Dame, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Wake Forest.

A big thing Kouandjio likes about UT is the fact that he could play early in the SEC.  He said UT's chances of getting one of Kouandjio's five official visits are good, considering the above mentioned and the fact that are recruiting him really hard right now.

Damien Robinson (6'8-330) from Olive Branch, MS is ranked the #10 OT and the #73 player in the entire nation by rivals.com.  UT is in real good shape with Robinson and has been rumored to be in the lead.  The VOLS will have to beat out Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and FSU to secure the giant's signature.
