The Bulldogs have reported three football violations involving recruiting on Sunday – May 31st. Assistant director of compliance Eric Baumgartner, notes the infractions were satisfactorily resolved by the SEC and NCAA.
Of the three violations described, one incident involved four players receiving NFL tickets from a former Bulldog, playing with the professional team. Baumgartner said the players made restitution by repaying for the tickets.
The remaining violations involved telephoning potential recruits. A coach had phoned a recruit after the recruit had been contacted previously that week.
The infraction cost the coaches a two week ban on contacting the potential recruit. The final violation involved a Bulldog booster phoning a recruit. Baumgartner said the booster was informed of the NCAA rules pertaining to involvement. [Full story at Scout.com]
