Matt Elam is rated the #5 player in the nation and commited to the Gators months ago. But after hearing a rumor that Coach Urban Meyer may take the Notre Dame job at the end of the 2009 season, has decided to reopen his recruitment. Elam maintains that he still commited to the Gators, but wants to see what all is out there just in case."....I've heard a lot about coaching changes and things like that and I haven't visited any other places but Florida. I want to look at other places and give other people a chance," Elam told Rivals.com.
Coach Meyer has taken a beating this week in the media for a long list of player arrests and the fury caused by a Paul Finebaum article that supports this rumor. It is Finebaum's opinion that if Notre Dame fires Charlie Weis at the end of the 2009 season, Urban Meyer will be the next coach at Notre Dame.
Elam said he would likely visit Alabama, Georgia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia . At this time, Elam is not considering the VOLS, but it is stil funny. Poor, poor, Herban.
