DT decommits from Cal, Interested in VOLS

Defensive tackle Cassius Marsh (6'4-280, Westlake Village, CA) decommitted from Cal according to various sources today. One of the top defensive tackles available for the 2010 class, Marsh has scholarship offers from Cal, Oregon, USC, UT, and others.

Marsh cited interest in moving south by mentioning interest in LSU and Tennessee along with Big-12 powerhouse Oklahoma.

"I'm seriously thinking about the SEC," said Marsh. "New schools I really like are LSU and Oklahoma. And I'm still looking at USC and Tennessee."

Although he's decommitted from Cal, he's still in love with coming to Berkeley for his college playing days. It was that being committed to Cal was making it difficult for him to evaluate other schools - probably because they weren't interested in recruiting him or flying him out for Official Visits while he was wearing a Bears tag.

"Cal's by far my number one choice right now. My heart's really with the Golden Bears. I just really wanted to make sure I'm making the right decision and approaching things the right way."

Marsh finished his 2008 junior season with 55 tackles and six sacks and earned First Team All-State Underclass honors by GoldenStatePreps.com, helping the Lions to an unbeaten 14-0 record and the CIF-SS Northwest Division title. Scout.com ranks Marsh the #3 DT and top 40 in the entire nation.
